I've been a pretty regular contributor to Gerald M. Weinberg's "Software as a Human Activity Practiced Effectively" (SHAPE) forum since, well, since before it officially existed. SHAPE has been going on since the mid '90s, and is a place where some pretty smart people get together and discuss the art/craft/science of making software, especially the parts where human beings are involved. SHAPE is a closed, members-only forum, but you can get a look at a sample discussion by going to Jerry's web site and clicking on the "SHAPE forum" link.

Some of the forum discussions have been collected into books, and I contributed stories and analysis to both. "Roundtable on Project Management" uses the story of the Titanic as a metaphor to discuss the "icebergs" that software projects keep running into, while "Roundtable on Technical Leadership" looks at the "stupid tricks" that we sometimes think are so smart... until they backfire on us (and in this book, I explain, from painful experience, the dangers of being a long-haired snot, as opposed to just a long-haired snot--hint: if you're the latter, a haircut might help; if you're the former, it's just a waste of money).
